Well Bushy was freezing today, but to my surprise there was no frost. It must be about a month since I've had a chance to get a skate and to get Bushy to myself was a real treat. It's just a shame you guys where not there to join in on the fun. I only stayed about an hour and had a great roll around. With any luck we'll all have a chance to get together soon for a skate before Christmas. Hope the head is better Kenny we'll hook up next time. Did you get a chance to hit Unit 13 Eamon?

Here you go Kenny you think dropping in could be harder. Have a look at this. Danny Way is the man. Unit 13 is just outside Belfast i think, only about 2 1/2 hours or so from Dublin.

Dublin sucks. How come we don't have an in door park? Is this the and of skating for the winter months already? We got to get up to Unit 13 for a good indoor session on wood. But i'm stuck in work for the next few weeks but i'd love to get up there before Christmas is any one up for it?

Glad to hear you got out to Swards Kenny, what do you think of the place? did you try to drop in? I'm sure it was a lot quieter than Bushy. The bowl is very slippy, i nearly killed my self last time i was there. Just an update from north of the border. Today I went to unit13 to check on progress in the park and a GENTLE roll around to try and sort out my gammy knee. The guys have worked wonders in a week and have the small mini with spine, bank, roll in and extension finished.The bigger mini is nearly done and will have a bowled end added. The big quarter is finished, this leads to a volcano/bank and on to a large wall ride leading into the bowled mini. Hopefully next week will see all the ramps finished, its gonna be the best layout yet with lots of flow and ramps from abot 3 foot to the big wall ride maybe 10 foot.Check the pics or check on http://www.bogginzine.com/ for a virtual tour.Also some more good news - the concept bowl in the city centre is open again.

Sunday was such a short session at Bushy, that its left me gagging for more. We where talking about hitting Cabra next time if anyone is up for it. It good to hear your thinking about a new deck Kenny. A new set up might be the thing you need to get you rolling like a pro.

Eamon payed a visit to Unit 13 on Sunday only to find that the park was closed because they where sifting thing around and Eamon thinks its going to add a lot more flow to the park. Maybe we should plan a road trip up to see him some tome before Christmas.

Kenny welcome to Old dogs old tricks, How was day one? I know it take a while but if you stick at it you'll love it. Once we get you into the ramps it'll blow your mind. Keep up the good work you'll get it.

Well i got a chance to hit Bushy today and it was fun. The only thing was that there where no other skaters over the age of 14 there so i had a few rolls around, tried a few new line and just bombed around the place but it was fun. I'm looking forward to next Sunday with any lick there will be a few more of us.

Well to day i got about 5 mins in Gory skate park and I'm not sure about it? It was ok but to i was on my old Vallely for the first time in a few months and i was just not feeling it. A few weeks ago i took the advise of a few of the boys and finally loosened my truck that where almost welded tight but i never loosened my truck on the Vallely so it was hard to get use too. I was very pleased to see there where 4 older dudes there already and they where ripping and i was stiff from driving and not digging my old set up so i only lasted a few mins. So i'm going to have to hit Bushy in the morning to get it out of my system. I'll just have to take my new deck next time.

Its Friday guys and i think I'm going to be off of work this Sunday. So if any one is free I'm think about hitting Bushy for a few hours on Sunday. I know Kenny was interested in meeting up so if your free buddy drop us a line. Well i had fun today, for once the weathermen where right and it was sunny. Bushy was dead for the first hour, but I was just about to give up and head home when a few of the lads turned up. So i ended up staying till 2pm or so and had a ball. I wanted to try some airs but without my skate buddy Eamon there to push me i never really felt the urge, so next time. But I'm loving the carving. Also i got a cool email from a guy called Kenny looking to meet up with us old farts for a skate after seeing us on Nationwide. So welcome to old dogs old tricks buddy.

Well another full day in work for me yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to do a new posting, sorry!

It's looking sweet I wonder how hard it is to get a blast around it? Eamon is on the mend after his fall two weeks ago in Bushy. Well the wait is over for us in old dogs old tricks RTE's Nationwide have finally showed the piece they did of us in Bushy and it not too bad. I'm sorry that we where unable to let you all know when the program was on in advance but the true of the mater was we never knew ether. i went in to work on Saturday to hear "you looked great last night...."But that's the way show business goes i guess. But all in all i think it turned out well, it's just a bummer that i could not skate on the day but that's life for you. I'm not going to say to much so have a look at it and post a comment I'd love to hear what you think of it. But i must say thanks to everyone who help.

Hi Eamon love the art work and the link. That guy has a great style love his art on the decks and hoodie.I'm going to give the tuxedo t-shirt some serious consideration,i love it. The decks are great i love that they look different, i don't know why all new school deck look the same.Its as if deck makers are just lazy and i love riding a deck that no one else has. I love the "Big fish" 10"x32" that would be a great one for you Eamon. I looked at it when i was looking for a new deck months ago and the shape is great. If you are tempted let me know and I'll get you to get me the T-shirt in XL. "Jack the dripper" looks cool but at 9.5"x36" that's one long deck. We had a man down today. After coming all the way down from the north Eamon ended up limping home. He came off doing a simple front side carv which is nothing new, its happened to us all but normally you just slide out on your knee pads and that's it. But Eamon came down strangely, his foot kind of twisted under him and when his knee hit it was bad. We thought it might be dislocated but after a sit down for an hour he limped to his car and headed home. He says it still sore but he went to the Docs and the gave him the all clear so now he has a real reason to use the antique walking stick. Get well soon buddy. Its suck a bummer we had the place to our self's and John and another really good skater from Australia called Ben turned up just as Eamon was putting his leg back together.

I had the pleasure of working all weekend so I'm dying to get out and roll around Bushy for an hour or two.How the hell did you break a kingpin? i don't know if Neil got out this weekend but I'm going to do my best to get a skate before work this week.

Just a couple of pics of Scott and Neil at Bushy a couple of weeks ago...sometimes we get lucky but mostly we suffer from shutter delay and miss the action.

Well I got to skate the new setup at unit13 in Belfast and I must say it has a few new lines, there is a new line between two big 8 foot quarters with a volcano to bank inbetween, kinda reminded me on the old ramp city in dublin a bit except this is a lot faster. There may be more changes on the way too. I even managed to break a kingpin today so it brought my session to an early end, can't wait to try again. Next weekend should be a big weekend at the park as the meltdown fundraiser is happening for details click on the poster on an earlier post.

Just a quick post to say I will be heading to unit 13 on sunday to try the new setup. The photo is of Bennet Harada showing us how to ride that deck, just need to teach mine now! Scott the Bondi Bowlarama is great with some serious airs...

Well we had a ball on Sunday. Not only did Eamon come down but Neil even made a guest appearance. We got there early about 11am but had to wait 20 mins for the guy with the key to get out of bed. But when we did get in and padded up we had the place to our self's for about an hour which was great. The only down side was that when we where there some old girl tried pushing rubbish of the path in the park though the fence in to the skate park and when Eamon said told her not to she got snotty, whats the story with the local of Bushy ??I'm going to try and contact the council tomorrow because i know she will be on the phone giving out about us.

Lets hope the weather holds for tomorrow as Scott says and we'll see if we can persuade our old corpses round the bowl at bushy. Meanwhile check out the events poster for a meltdown weekend at unit 13 in Belfast if anyone is interested, it looks like a good one!

The weather report for Sunday is (drum roll please.......) "sunny" well that what they say on BBC weather center. So if they are right we're going to hit Bushy at around 11 ish. I'm dying to play on the pool tile's again i had a blast last time with Eamon so with any luck we'll see him and Neil on Sunday.

Man the weather suck i was kind of hoping to sneak out of work for a quick roll around Bushy today but that's never works out for me some how. But we've got our fingers crossed for Sunday.

Eamon sent us another cool update of the bowl that is being built up north, looking good. I don't know anything about it but i we where wondering how are they going to run it, can you rent it? is there a club or something.

well it's Monday and the kids are back in school and I'm pinning for a skate, but the question is are we going to go to Bushy Saturday or Sunday and are we going to get Neil this weekend because its been to long since we all got together for a roll around Bushy. As you might of noticed we now have the pleasure of Eamon as an author for the blog which is great seeing that he was always one of our best sources of info and links.Welcome aboard buddy love your posting keep up the good work.

Unit13 update

After the flood two weeks ago unit 13 was getting a clean up today with volunteers brushing up and mopping and moving the ramps about a bit. It wasn't all work and no play as skaters made the most of the mess as you can see by jonys impromptu wallride. Hopefully the park will be open again next week.

I'm a little stiff today after yesterday skate but it was great , need to do it again already. We had a great session on the pool tile's, man there are great i was always a little intimidated by them but now I've got to hit them every run and Eamon's carving is going from strength to strength. We've made a bowl skater out of him and he getting faster and faster all the time.

Well that's us just back from Bushy and man that was fun. Eamon made it down and it was carve, carve, carve. Loved it i finally tried a few early airs at the end of our session and they where OK now I've got to make them bigger. Baby steps. But Eamon is growing in to a bowl skater, he has started to find new lines and he's getting a lot smoother and faster.

Also Eamon found this great picture of the bowl that's being built up in Belfast it's looking good cant wait to his it a spin.

Well i did it again I'm sorry i went to Scotland on a family holiday and was unable to do any new posting from there. But the good news is we're back and I've been in touch with Eamon and we're planning to hit bushy tomorrow morning. It should be good if the weather holds and the kids are in school. Cant wait as i never really got a chance to hit Transition Extreme skate park in Aberdeen but that's the way family holidays goes, and to tell the truth i was unable to take my new monster deck and it just didn't feel right to use another deck especially a new school deck.

We i finally made it to Bushy today and the rain staid off , who would of believed it. It's just a shame Eamon and Neil we unable to make it today.

But I'm loving the new deck, carving is addictive. Just cant stop and I'm finding new lines almost every time which is great. I never went near the pool tiles for some reason but now I'm starting to love them i even hit them front side once today. I think the new monster deck has a lot to do with it, the size just gives you so much space to play with even if your a little of balance there so much room you can just shift your feet a little and your back on track. The one down side today was that with no skate buddy there to tend to tire and i never tried baby early airs today so next time I'll have to pull the finger out. With any luck I'm going to try and hit Transition Extreme in Aderdeen, Scotland this week and man that a great indoor park.HUGE and it has a great monster bowl that got my name on. Here's a picture of the main park. The Bowl is in the top left corner of the picture at the back of the park raised up, it's a monster.

We the weather forecast for tomorrow is "sunny intervals" so I'm going to Bushy baby. The only down side is that all my skate buddy's are unable to make it. So it will have to be just me and my MP3 player. Cant wait. I'm going to have a look at airs, Just small early airs to start of with and See how i get on but lots of carving. My new monster board rock and I'm starting to get hit a few new lines, its amazing how the bigger 10.5 wide deck gives me a lot more confidence. So size does matter after all.

Eamon still does not know how Unit13 is after the floods with any lick they wil be up and running soon.

Well the weather men where wrong again! I was lucky today got to skate Bushy for about an hour and a half to day. Only 1 BMX, 2 little kid and another old dude Colin. Great to see another new face at Bushy. It was his first time there but i think we'll be seeing him again. I think he said that he was just back skating after a ten year break but he hid it well a great mini ramp skater but I'm sure he'll get his lines down in no time.

The only bad news today is that Eamon went to Unit13 today just to find that it had been flooded and he thinks there was some damage so fingers crossed they can fix it up. We're hoping for a quick roll around Bushy some day this week with any luck Wednesday. I'll keep you posted.

Looks like Sunday might be a bit hit and miss, we think Eamon wont be coming down this Sunday and Neil is off having fun. But we think Scott is still going to give it a try weather permitting.

Well Eamon come up with a few pictures from our trip up north a few weeks ago and there cool. Eamon came up with the idea of a Skate trip to Blackpool. They are meant to of acquired a new wooden bowl and a full pipe, could be a blast. we're going to go looking for any cool pictures of the park and we'll post them as soon as we find some.If any one has some please pass them on and we'll post them.Don't forget we're planning to hit Bushy again this Sunday.

We are having a lot of technical problems with the Internet the last few days, so we're working on getting them fixed as soon as we can. As good as computers can be there also one giant pain in the ass.

But with that said we had lot of fun on Sunday down at Bushy. Eamon made it down from the north and we finally had a chance to road test the new decks and there great and we able to get this great picture of him. The weather was a little hit and miss 30 mins of skating then 5 mins rain, but Bushy dries out in about 10 mins so we where able to get a skate and that must of happened about 3 time. But it was worth it. Finger crossed we can do it all again this Sunday

Well fingers crossed the weather will hold off and we'll finally get a chance to hit Bushy. The BBC weather says to expect "sunny intervals" What the that means is another story but we're going and that's that. So with Bushy in mind we found the only skate vid other than our own on YouTube its of a little dude we use too skate with in RampCity it quite an old vid so we wonder how he's getting on these days, get in touch little dude and we'll have a skate.

At some point we all take a hit to the hip from coping but to date this has to be the worse one in history. Man Danny Way is a skate god but that's one hell of a fall, but we're not sure which is worse this one or Jake Browns? you tell us.

P.S. Lets do our best to get to bushy this Sunday if the weather is up to it. With any luck we'll get to see how Scott's and Eamon's new decks handle the bowl.

We found what looks like one of the coolest skate parks in the world. it's the super park from the XGames 14 and man it looks fantastic. Eamon sent us a picture of it a few days a go but because we where so busy we never got a chance to post it. But after a hour of watching YouTube we came across the practice session but it gives us a little teaser of what could be.

Sorry about yesterday, some time's there is never enough time to do everything that you have to do. With that said it time to look towards the weekend and think about getting out to skate.
